After another disappointing season, the Chicago Bulls have had enough of the infrastructure. The people who ran the team for years were driving it into the concrete. Rumors swirled around that the organization would look for new leadership.
The team was denied by some suitors, but managed to lure others in. One name stood out, a man who really wanted the job. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, said man has secured it.
Denver Nuggets GM Arturas Karnisovas will become the next Vice President of Basketball Operations for the Chicago Bulls.
Karnisovas had been with the Nuggets since 2013, where he helped the organization become a contender in the Western Conference. This will mean John Paxson, who formally held the title, will be let go. This will also mean the end of Gar Forman as the Bulls GM, and likely the release of head coach Jim Boylen. Karnisovas will be tasked with building with the talent he has, and inspiring hope in the organization for players who have been rumored to want out, such as Zach Lavine or Lauri Markkanen.
