State of the Tank

It has been around a week since sports across the United States and many other parts of the world were put on hold. A week. For many, it has felt like a lifetime. The Coronavirus (COVID-19) has swept the nation and put the world in an unprecedented situation. Almost all aspects of life have been affected to this point. Included in that is, of course, sports.

The NBA, NHL, and MLB seasons look to be postponed indefinitely. Quite frankly, no one is sure when we will get our sports back. It may seem like a silly thing to care about in a time like this, but the fact of the matter is, sports are some peoples lives. Their passion. Their Escape. I started FishTankSports because I have an undying love for competition and debate. The thrill of winning and the agony of defeat. It has run through my veins since I was a kid first picking up a basketball. I, like many others, miss sports dearly.

FishTankSports has been around for a short two months. We’ve worked through some kinks, improved our processes, brought on some new and talented writers. We have a good team. Our following has grown, slow, but steadily. I want to thank all of you for that!

However, we are faced with a difficult challenge moving forward. I’ve been asked countless times by writers, friends, family, followers, “What are you going to do?” Without sports, there leaves little to be written about. NFL Free Agency has given the sporting world a massive zap back to life, but that will soon wear off. Nevertheless, we will continue on. We will work to provide creative and unique content to give you a taste of sports during these trying times. We will try out some new ways to create and engage with all of you and do our best to have some fun along the way. FTS cannot thank you all enough for your support. We sincerely wish everyone the best of health and safety.
