Another slow day in Indy at the NFL Combine, but some big news came out today. Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Tua Tagovailoa received good news on his medicals after two days of testing. The fracture is healed and there is no loss of blood flow, which was the main concern. This should solidify Tua as a first-round pick come April.
Clemson LB/S/CB Isaiah Simmons won the weigh-in today when he came in at 6’3 5/8″ and 238 pounds. Simmons is a physical specimen that many are speculating will run a sub 4.4 second 40-yard dash this week.
LSU LB and late riser Patrick Queen is another LB prospect that many scouts think will blow up the combine. He has been rumored to run in the high 4.3’s during combine training. If he hits this time the top 15 buzz will start.
Tomorrow is the day we have all been waiting for. Henry Ruggs will take to the field for athletic testing. The over/under on his 40 time is set at 4.25 and many scouts think the under is very possible. Not only that, but they think breaking John Ross’s record mark of 4.22 is entirely possible. All eyes will be on Ruggs tomorrow evening.
The big news of the day came later on in the day when new Washington Redskins Head Coach Ron Rivera said that the team bringing in Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa is more than just due diligence. I will have a story updating this in the coming days with the ramifications for the Draft as well as Dwayne Haskins.
I will have a recap of NFL Combine day four after the athletic testing concludes tomorrow evening.
